Downtown Meats was originally a grocery store named Bemidji Food Mart. It was established in the early 1930's and was located at 216 2nd St downtown. The building it was in at that time was built way back in 1918 and also had a hotel in it. The store changed hands a couple times before renamed to "Bemidji Downtown Meats" in 1990. In 2003, we were blessed with the opportunity to purchase the market and pour our hearts into our own business. Our passion for quality and dedication to friendly customer service has fueled our growth since then.

With a few years of planning and a wonderfully located piece of property in our grasps, the dream was at hand! The groundbreaking was in April 2015 and we were open for business by July 24th the same year! We have our own building, our own parking, double the square footage, and room to grow in the future!

Here in Bemidji, it is easy to find the Landmark of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox. They are located by the first street lights on the west side of Lake Bemidji. Bemidji Downtown Meats is exactly 3 blocks to your west from Paul and Babe "You can't miss it!" Our address is 207 America Ave NW, Bemidji, MN.
